Brazil will be the focus of the sporting world this year as the spiritual home of soccer hosts the World Cup for the second time. With the nation also heading towards an election, the country's economy is also coming under close scrutiny. Recent street protests have led to speculation that the country's economic progress of the last two decades is beginnning to fray.
Patrick Carvalho, Associate Lecturer at the Research School of Economics recently spoke to the ABC's The Business program about Brazil's economic prospects, and the lessons Australia might draw from the experiences of this agri-mining nation.
